Dear Friend of The Library:
Thank you once again for your letters of support for the bill that
is in the New York State Legislature to provide funding to The Library
of The General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen of the City of
New York.
We have good news to report: On May 30, 2007 the New York State Senate
approved the bill (S. 899) unanimously! This means we're halfway there.
The bill (A02052) still needs to be approved by the Assembly. Currently,
the Assembly bill is in the Ways and Means Committee. With your help
we can bring this bill out for a vote before the end of the legislative
session on June 21.
If you haven't already done so, please write or call Assemblyman Herman
D. Farrell, Jr., the chair of the Ways and Means Committee, to voice
your support for the bill. His contact information is:
Assemblyman Herman D. Farrell, Jr.
