The New York Center for Independent Publishing (NYCIP)
Established in 1984 to provide assistance to independent publishers and encourage quality publishing. Among its programs, the NYCIP delivers a series of workshops led by outstanding publishing personnel designed to help writers, aspiring publishers, marketing staffers, and anyone intrigued with the challenge of entrepreneurial publishing. The American Booksellers Association recently donated an entire collection representing a record of 20th century publishing history which is the foundation of this resource center. In addition, the Center delivers lectures, hosts book fairs, cofounded Small Press Month. The center is located in the Library.
