Artisan Lecture Series, Spring 2016.

Alix Soubiran, Founder and Creative Director, Princes & Crows,

Artisan Designer of Custom Murals, Wallpapers and Décor

Tuesday, June 14th  AT THE GENERAL SOCIETY LIBRARY,  The program begins at 6:30 P.M. –  RECEPTION TO FOLLOW.

Alix Soubiran, Founder and Creative Director of Prince & Crows, is an artisan designer of custom murals, wallpapers and décor and during her talk will explain the processes she employs to design and create her exquisite wallpapers.

Paris-born Alix Soubiran has been working with prominent architects and interior designers throughout Europe and the United States for the last fifteen years, designing artistically crafted wall coverings. Also a talented muralist, she conceptualizes imaginative spaces that are whimsical and inspiring with thoughtfully chosen color palettes. Creating exclusive murals and wallpapers, she has adorned the walls of high-end residences, restaurants and hotels throughout the world.

In 2008, Ms. Soubiron launched Princes & Crows, a micro company based in Los Angeles that focuses on wallpaper and décor. She takes an unconventional approach to wallpaper by hand painting each design; her paintings are translated into a digital medium and converted into a seamless, repeating pattern that can be printed.  She will discuss her methodology in detail and illustrate how her artistic vision transforms a space.

After graduating at l’institut d’Etudes Politiques de Lyon, Lyon France, Ms. Soubiron studied art at l’Institut Met de Penninghen, Paris and mural techniques at the Centre Pictural des Arts Décoratifs in Boulogne, France. After apprenticing under Mural master Jean-Claude Adenin and working with London-based interior designer David Carter, she moved to the US in 2000. Her designs can be found on at www.princesandcrows.com.
