Join us for a lecture with Foster Reeve, expert architectural and ornamental plaster artisan. Foster will discuss the fine art, architectural, and technical skills needed to produce his exquisite ornamental plasterwork, as well as its historical significance and contemporary application.

Originally from Philadelphia, Foster Reeve completed a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and a MFA from Parsons School of Design. For over 30 years he has pursued the art and craft of fine plasterwork, its history, capabilities, and beauty, transcending the boundaries of what plasterwork means. He has worked on projects nationwide, collaborated with prominent architects and interior designers, and had work featured in Architectural Digest and the Robb Report.

Foster and his team at Foster Reeve & Associates also housed and restored the pieces currently displayed in the ICAA’s Plaster Cast Gallery. These copies of important Greek and Roman works were de-accessioned from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection where they had, at one time, been featured in galleries and used as educational tools. The Plaster Cast Gallery will be open to visitors following the talk.
