On May 14, 2015, in celebration of its 230th Anniversary and Season Five of the Artisan Lecture Series, The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen of the City of New York commemorates its original theme, “By Hammer and Hand All Arts Do Stand” by declaring the Society  “The Home of the Artisan.”
